Earlier this year, Professor James Flynn of the Departments of Politics and Psychology delivered his TED2013 (TED.com) talk titled "Why our IQ levels are higher than our grandparents". Professor Flynn was one of around 80 speakers at the event held earlier this year in Long Beach, Califorina. The programme included talks by luminaries such as civilisation scholar Jared Diamond, philosopher Peter Singer and musicians and activists Peter Gabriel and Bono. TED2013 attracted more than 1400 attendees from 50 countries.
