Arabidopsis flower specimenAssociate Professor Richard Macknight was a speaker at the Developing Crops of the Future workshop at Kiama, New South Wales, Australia on 19–21 April 2016.  This workshop brought together researchers studying developmental genetics of different crop plants to discuss how knowledge of developmental biology can be translated to real world impact.

Arabidopsis (pictured right) is indigenous to Europe and is related to cabbage and mustard. It was the first plant to have its genome sequenced. This makes it of great interest to researchers and it was the subject of Associate Professor Macknight's presentation entitled "New ways to develop high Vitamin C crops".
