Dr Miranda Mirosa served on the Committee of a 5-year APEC funded project 'Strengthening Public-Private Partnership to Reduce Food Losses'. In 2016 she provided expert consultation on retail and consumer level food waste at a Taiwan meeting (July) and most recently in northern Peru (September). The meeting was hosted by the Council of Agriculture, Chinese Taipei; the Department of Agriculture and Irrigation, Peru; and NZ's Ministry for Primary Industries. The purpose of the meeting, which was held during International Food Security Week, was to enhance public-private partnership and involvement in food waste reduction by showcasing successful business models and best practices of collaboration in the APEC region.
