Stephanie Hughes 186 x280Can we get ahead of getting sick? Gene therapy and editing are the future of medicine. Chronic conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease may one day be cured by a single injection.

Dr Stephanie Hughes from the University of Otago's Brain Health Research Centre explains the science behind the hype and describes how this dream might become reality.

If this talk looks familiar, its because Dr Hughes was supposed to give it last year as part of "Insight 2017: A sneak peek into our future" hosted by Catalyst during the 2017 Queenstown Research Week. Unfortunately she was unable to present due to her international flight being delayed by 12 hours. But here it is, 12 months later!

Dr Hughes will present her talk at 10am on Monday 27 August in the Function Room, Queenstown Events Centre, Joe O'connell Drive, Frankton, Queenstown.
