Proteomics and inhibition of lipoprotein(a)

Research

Inhibition of lipoprotein (a) formation. Elevated Lp(a) is associated with the development of cardiovascular diseases. To date no therapy that effectively lowers Lp(a) exists. We have screened different compounds for Lp(a) inhibitory activity and so far identified bacitracin, an old peptide antibiotic and DMPC as inhibitors for Lp(a) assembly. Also, proteomic analysis of lipoproteins in human plasma.
