About Courtney Thomas (Ngai Tahu, Te Arawa)

Dr Courtney Thomas is a Senior Lecturer at MIHI and a Specialist Anaesthetist working at Christchurch Public Hospital.

Courtney is a medical graduate of the University of Otago and a former student of the undergraduate Hauora Maori curriculum delivered by the MIHI team.

She is the lead investigator on a research project, funded by the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, that aims to investigate the experience of Maori patients' experiences of their anaesthetic care in the perioperative environment.
