Minoring n Computer Science

Computer science (COSC) can be a minor subject for the Bachelor of Science degree (BSc), the Bachelor of Commerce degree (BCom) or the Bachelor of Arts degree (BA).

To minor in computer science, you are required to include the following papers:
100-level: COMP160 + one more COMP paper
200-level: Two 200-level COSC papers
300-level: One 300-level COSC paper

A minor may be used to gain the core skills for a specific type of job. Here are three examples.

Professional web development (front end and back end development):
S1: COMP112
S2: COMP160
S1: COSC241
S2: COSC212
S2: COSC344.

Software development:
S1: COMP150
S2: COMP160
S1: COSC241
S2: COSC242
One of S2: COSC349 or FY: COSC345.

Computer network management:
S2: COMP160
S1: COSC243
S2: COSC244
S1: COSC301
One more COMP or COSC paper (recommended: either COMP150 or COSC241).

Database administration:
S2: COMP160
S1: COSC241
S2: COSC344 (prerequisite will be waived provided a grade of B or better is obtained in COSC241)
S1: COSC430 (requires a grade of B or better in COSC344)
One more COMP or COSC paper (recommended: either COSC242 or COSC244).
