On completion of this paper the successful student will be able to:

  • Describe the difference between quantitative and qualitative research
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of different study designs
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the process involved in obtaining ethical approval for research involving human subjects
  • Produce a critical analysis of two research papers on a chosen topic
