This is a full-year research project, generally individual, carried out under the supervision of one or more staff members. A list of project proposals is provided, but it is possible to arrange projects of a student's own choice if a staff member is available and willing to act as supervisor.

- Integrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired in their undergraduate degree in a large, independent research project
- Gain a deeper understanding of the specific area of computer science research related to their project
- Demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner
- Communicate their work clearly to an audience through oral presentation and written reports
