Our Office is excited to provide strategic advice through:

Strengthening our Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships with mana whenua and protecting taonga Māori
Advancing Māori leadership, policies, plans and practices
Leading the development and implementation of the University’s Māori academic research and teaching objectives, strengthening Māori content, delivery and methodology
Leading and supporting Māori staff and students through new and existing networks, helping mātauraka Māori flourish and furthering places where Māori staff and students can be Māori
Developing innovative ways for all students to engage and learn about, and in, te ao Māori
Growing our research that engages with te ao Māori

Our Office is responsible for leading the Pae Tata Whakamana i te Tiriti o Waitangi Domain and the Te Aka Matua | Māori Strategic Framework 2030, and for coordinating relationships with mana whenua and Māori entities, including pursuant to Te Kaha Uia Te Kaha | The Mana-to-Mana Agreement.
