Students who successfully complete this paper will:
- Explain what research is, and in particular what research is in the Health Informatics setting.
- Describe the different types of study designs commonly employed in Digital Health research.
- Describe the different types data used in research and how they are collected.
- Describe and explain the different types of error encountered in research.
- Perform basic statistical analysis of data collected during the course of research.
- Make a critical appraisal of research articles using an appropriate framework.
- Explain what qualitative research is and describe some of the methods it employs.
