Overview
Learn about predominant types of new venture capital - financial (using accounting information, sourcing venture capital, making investment decisions, and evaluating performance) and social (corporate- and individual-level relations and networks).
Incorporates Māori and Pacific contexts into examples of successful modern businesses and uses real world case studies to explore how these concepts have been realised.
This paper will explore different business models based on ideas and concepts beyond those of purely financial gain, with the goal of exploring how financial success can be achieved through applications beyond the pursuit of wealth.
This paper will appeal to those who enjoy building their ideas from a simple concept through to a working and established business model. With support from peers, students will learn how to develop their own ideas and progress them to a more developed stage. Students will develop the confidence to build from their ideas and present them as well-rounded business solutions, whether for the benefit of their employer, or for their own personal benefit now or in the future.
