This is the second of two papers focusing on common medical and surgical disorders affecting the limbs and peripheral joints. A systematic approach to pathology, clinical features, diagnosis and management from a biomedical perspective is taken.

Paper coordinator: Dr Stu Thomson, with input from various specialists including orthopaedic, musculoskeletal medicine and radiologists.
- Paper Structure
The paper consists of eight modules covering the commonly encountered diseases and disorders of the limbs and peripheral joints. Topics include the use of imaging techniques in musculoskeletal diagnosis; disorders and diseases affecting the shoulder, forearm and elbow; wrist and hand; hip; knee; calf; and ankle and foot.
- Teaching Arrangements
- Material is delivered electronically and is distance taught. There are eight fortnightly online teaching sessions.
- Textbooks
Readings will be provided for students to access via the Library, with additional readings and other multimedia material provided via Blackboard.
An additional useful reference text is Netter's 'Orthopaedic Clinical Examination' 3rd Edition by Joshua Clelend, Shane Koppenhaver and Jonathan Su. This is available from Amazon and The Book Depository and is used widely in the Musculoskeletal suite of papers.
