Students who successfully complete the paper will be able to
- Demonstrate understanding of a wide range of Sanskrit grammatical forms, and of Sanskrit syntax;
- Demonstrate knowledge of essential Sanskrit vocabulary;
- Read Sanskrit in both Roman and Devanagari script and;
- Attempt the translation of unseen Sanskrit texts;
- Translate prepared Sanskrit texts;
- Demonstrate an understanding of Sanskrit philology and its application in the study of Indian religions;
- Provide a piece of sustained translation and study of Sanskrit text.
