The investigation and analysis of external, physical approaches to performance through the study of image, mask and devising.
This paper looks at a range of physical theatre methods in a practical context. Students will create short performances that will be presented at the end of the paper.

Students will gain an understanding of approaches, principles, practices and theories of aspects of physical theatre. Students will also both write about and perform this knowledge.
Students who successfully complete the paper will be able to:- Identify physical theatre training methods developed by selected theorist-practitioners
- Comparatively analyse differences between approaches to physical theatre training and performance
- Create a performance using physical theatre techniques
- Write reflectively about the deployment of selected physical theatre training and performance techniques
