Melanie Grant picThe Department of Pathology warmly congratulates Melanie Grant on her AMP Scholarship success.

Melanie, a PhD candidate in Professor Sarah Young's laboratory is one of 12 recipients selected from over 2,000 applicants in this year's AMP Scholarship awards.

Formerly a nutritionist, Melanie gained entry into the Dunedin School of Medicine's PhD programme with a focus on improving adoptive cell therapy for cancer.

After completing her PhD in early 2016, Melanie's goal is to get a US Visa application approved so that she can take up a post-doctoral fellowship in cancer therapy at Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C.

Melanie is "really excited about the future of cancer therapy, particularly as it is on the cusp of revolution" and is "looking forward to contributing to new therapies."
