Research
Joseph joined the New Zealand Mortality Review Data Group (NZMRDG) in 2007. His primary research is related to the analysis of quantitative data for the annual reports of Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee (PMMRC) and Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee (CYMRC) and a variety of data requests on behalf of and as approved by PMMRC and CYMRC. These include testing trends over time, estimating confidence intervals, hypothesis testing and multivariate analysis.
Prior to arriving to NZMRDG, Joseph has worked as a tutor and test supervisor for undergraduate papers in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics since 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Canterbury and Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Statistics from University of Otago. His interests are applied and computational statistics in medical research, science, Bayesian statistics and modelling, probability theory and distribution.
