Kia ora e te postgraduate whānau, my role is coaching postgraduate students during their academic studies, with a specific focus on wellbeing, academic performance, and research productivity.

Coaching is a conversation-based interaction. You are the expert in your own life, I just ask open questions to help you process out loud and come to your own solutions. We might use the whiteboard to figure things out.

All sessions are confidential,* free of charge via zoom or face to face.

Postgrads access graduate wellbeing coaching (GWC) to focus on time management / routine planning, coping with academic demands, procrastination, imposter feelings, overwhelm or life stressors affecting study and to discuss expectations of postgraduate study.

I can offer coaching for candidates who are researching sensitive topics too.

I highly I recommend postgraduates book a session with me at the start of your degree as a proactive measure to plan to be successful.

As I am an occupational therapist the aim is to leave a session with a practical plan to help you be successful.

As part of my wider role, I facilitate wellbeing or productivity related workshops, I like to collaborate with student groups or other support services.

I can also advise staff on student wellbeing.

I strongly encourage you to attend the GRS Masters or PhD workshops:

Personal development and wellbeing workshops

Postgraduate Professional and Researcher Development

Best wishes for your academic journey at the University of Otago, we are delighted to have you.

*It is my duty of care to break confidentiality if you are at risk to yourself or others. I will discuss this with you first.
