Overview
Dr Chapple is conducting research that is investigating complex interventions for people with OA. For example, is the combination of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories with physiotherapy more effective than physiotherapy alone for people with knee OA.
A current PhD student being supervised by Dr Chapple is investigating the use of splinting in addition to usual care for the management of carpo-metacarpal joint OA. This reflects usual clinical care and makes findings more likely to be translated to practice.
Investigating combined interventions is an opportunity for a research student/post-doc.
