Academic Information

Most courses are taught in English.

The University of Aarhus, School of Business and Social Sciences prefers that exchange students have two years of studies completed prior to coming to Aarhus, as well as at least one year of full-time study in the subject area the student will be enrolled in on exchange. E.g. if a student has only done 2 Commerce papers prior to their exchange, BSS won't accept their application.

The University, City and Region

The University

The School of Business and Social Sciences offers a wide range of study programmes in business and communication taught in English. BSS offers excellent and highly organised student services including the Introduction Programme.

The Introduction Programme will introduce you to the university, the IT facilities and services and inform you about courses, exams, academic deadlines, etc. You will also be guided through practical things such as applying for residence permit. Furthermore you will get information about social and cultural activities during the semester. Please note that the Introduction Programme is mandatory for all exchange students.

BSS organises lots of activities during the semester - sometimes together with local students or sometimes exclusively for exchange students.

The City of Aarhus and Region

Aarhus has a population of 300,000 and is centrally located in Denmark and Northern Europe. The city is close to a variety of natural environments, with beaches and forests to the North and South, a lake district with a rich animal and bird life to the West, and the Bay of Aarhus, to the East. The city hosts around 35,000 students of higher education, making Aarhus a young and vibrant city. Within the city are numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants, a flourishing jazz and rock scene, museums, Art Galleries, and the Aarhus Concert Hall. Denmark is an open and safe society where almost everyone speaks English.
