Semester 2 2020: New international student enrolment and orientation seminars

All new incoming students, except PhD students, MUST register for and attend a New International Student Enrolment & Orientation seminar before completing enrolment.

Important information for you as a new student at the University of Otago

Students outside New Zealand

If you are outside New Zealand in another country register here

After you register, you must email a scan of your passport bio page to: international.orientation@otago.ac.nz

At the seminar you will meet International Office Staff and receive important information about completing your University of Otago enrolment. Following the seminar you should be able to complete your ‘Declaration’ (The final step of enrolment) within 24 hours in eVision.

Students in New Zealand

If you are currently in New Zealand register here

After you register you must email a scan of your passport bio page and a full copy of your electronic visa to: international.orientation@otago.ac.nz

At the seminar you will meet International Office Staff and receive important information about completing your University of Otago enrolment. Following the seminar you should be able to complete your ‘Declaration’ (The final step of enrolment) within 24 hours in eVision.

Masters' or PhD students

If you are a new international PhD or master's (thesis-based) student, please visit an International Student Advisor at the Central Library AskOtago Hub between 11am and 4pm Monday–Friday as soon as possible after your arrival. AskOtago will be able to direct you.

Bring your passport and visa with you.

An appointment will be arranged for you to meet with a member of the International Student Support Team who will cover arrival information, assist with completing your enrolment, and answer any questions you may have at that time.

You will have an opportunity to sign up for the next PhD / Master by Thesis welcome session. These sessions are run twice a month.
