Summer School, 2020: New international student enrolment and orientation seminars
All new international students coming for Summer School in January 2020, except PhD and Masters by thesis students, must attend the International Student Enrolment & Orientation Seminar. This will be held on Sunday 5 January at 4:30pm at the International Office in the Clocktower.
If you are unable to come to this seminar, please contact Louisa Samson at firstname.lastname@example.org to organise an alternative time.
MBA Exchange Summer School, 2020: International student enrolment and orientation seminar
On your arrival at the University of Otago, you are required to attend an Enrolment and Orientation Seminar. The enrolment and orientation seminar will take place in the Business School (time and date to be confirmed)
You MUST bring your original passport and your visa to the seminar.
- If you have an electronic visa, please bring a printed copy of this visa.
- For students from a visa waiver country, please just bring your original passport. Staff at Otago will check your visa status directly with Immigration New Zealand
Be sure to apply for the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority and to pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy prior to travelling if you intend entering New Zealand using your visa waiver status.

Semester 1 2020: New international student enrolment and orientation seminars
All new incoming students, except PhD students, MUST register for a New International Student Enrolment & Orientation seminar before they are on campus. Please register below:
You are required to bring your passport with you to the enrolment and orientation seminar, and if you have an electronic visa please also bring a paper copy of that visa.
Please note, if you are studying through one of the Study Abroad Institutes: IFSA, Arcadia, ISA, TEAN, BCA or API, do not register for a seminar.
You will be advised of the time and location of your special group welcome by your institute.

At the seminar you will meet International Office Staff and receive important information about completing your University of Otago enrolment. Following the seminar you should be able to complete your ‘Declaration’ (The final step of enrolment) in eVision. The day after completing your declaration, you can obtain your Student ID card and will then have access to the University services.
The location for the above seminars is St David Complex, Seminar Room F.

Students arriving for papers starting early
For GEOL 252, GEOL 334 and ECOL 313 students going on early field trips: If times above do not suit you, please email email@example.com as soon as possible to arrange an alternative time to attend an enrolment and orientation seminar.
All students taking GEOL252 must complete this online form before Friday 31st January 2020. You will not be allowed on the trip if this form is not completed in time.
Please ensure that you are in Dunedin in time to attend the mandatory pre-fieldtrip meeting on Monday 17th February 2020 at 1:00pm in Quad 1. You will not be allowed on the field trip if you miss this meeting.
All students taking GEOL344 must complete this online form at least two weeks before the trip begins in early February. You will not be allowed on the trip if this form is not completed in time.
Please ensure that you are in Dunedin in time to attend the mandatory pre-fieldtrip meeting on 7th February at 10:00am in Quad 4. You will not be allowed on the field trip if you miss this meeting.
All students taking ECOL 313 must attend a compulsory field trip prior to the beginning of the semester between 10 –16 February 2020. Please make you arrive before this date.

Masters' or PhD students
If you are a new international PhD or master's (thesis-based) student, please visit an International Student Advisor at the Central Library AskOtago Hub between 11am and 4pm Monday–Friday as soon as possible after your arrival. AskOtago will be able to direct you.
Bring your passport and visa with you.
An appointment will be arranged for you to meet with a member of the International Student Support Team who will cover arrival information, assist with completing your enrolment, and answer any questions you may have at that time.
You will have an opportunity to sign up for the next PhD / Master by Thesis welcome session. These sessions are run twice a month.
