Semester 2: New international student enrolment & orientation seminars

All new incoming international students, except PhD students, must register for a New International Student Enrolment & Orientation Seminar before they arrive on campus. Please register for your seminar by selecting one session below. 

Please note, if you are studying through one of the Study Abroad Institutes: IFSA, Arcadia, ISA, TEAN, BCA or API, do not register for a seminar. You will be advised of the time and location of your special group welcome by your institute.

Please bring your passport with you to the Enrolment & Orientation Seminar, and if you have an electronic visa please also bring a paper copy of that visa.

At the seminar you will meet International Office staff and receive important information about completing your University of Otago enrolment.

Following the seminar you should be able to complete your 'Declaration' (the final step of enrolment) in eVision. The day after completing your declaration you can obtain your Student ID card and will then have access to University services.

Staff will be available to assist you with any questions you may have.

The location for the above seminars is St David's Seminar room 6.

Information sessions for new international students arriving throughout the year

If you are a new international PhD or Masters by thesis student, please check in at the International Office Reception upon your arrival. Bring your passport and visa with you.

An appointment will be arranged for you to meet with a member of the International Student Support Team who will cover arrival information, assist with completing your enrolment, and answer any questions you may have at that time. You will have an opportunity to sign up for the next PhD/Master by Thesis Welcome session.  These sessions are run twice a month.
