Every year in the third week of August, we celebrate International Languages Week. During that week, we join with our university and secondary schools' multlingual and multicultural communities to celebrate languages and cultural diversities.

Among the many activities we organise during this week, our Culture Quiz has become a very popular event in which students from all of our Dunedin high schools compete to win the Languages and Cultures Cup and everybody join us in an evening of celebration of languages and cultures.

We also organise many other events throughout the year (e.g. Tertiary Day, French Chat, Cherry Blossom Day, Moon Festival Celebration, Spanish Programme fiesta,...and more!).

Every year, the department also holds information sessions about our Honours Programme, but if you want to learn more about this degree, you can also make an appointment with our HoD or begin by checking our HONOURS programme guidelines (in PDF format).
