Overview

The Department of Nursing are involved in a broad range of research activities in both community and hospital-based health care. Collaborations with health service providers and other researchers have resulted in research projects focusing on improving the health and wellbeing of people living with health challenges.

Within this theme, we have quite a few projects available for postgraduate students and research collaborators. We can also accommodate keen students with their own area of interest within this theme.

The research team have ongoing research projects and experience in a variety of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

  • Using big data (InterRai) to identify groups who are more likely to develop poor outcomes

If you are a straight A student (GPA of 8 - 'A' grade) or higher, who has completed an honours or master's degree with an appropriate research component from a New Zealand university then you are likely to be guaranteed a University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship.
