Emergency phones consist of a two way intercom style phone that connect to the Campus Watch Control Room, staffed 24/7, at the push of a button.

They also have a Wide Area Emergency Broadcast System incorporated into them. This system enables real time or prerecorded emergency broadcasts to be transmitted from powerful speakers contained within the units. These broadcasts can be transmitted to one, all or any combination of units throughout the Campus.

Emergency phone 3

During an emergency situation a warning siren will sound followed by a voice announcement and instructions. This message will repeat for a duration selected dependent on the type of emergency.

There are currently two towers and 14 wall mounted units throughout the Campus. A large number of internal units in student teaching spaces will be installed in the coming months.
