Dr Ruth Toumu'a
Tēnā koe. I'm the Student Learning Development adviser for the Wellington campus.
It's my pleasure to provide individualised advice, coaching and support in learning skills development and academic literacy for postgraduate students at UOW.
I do this mostly through providing one-to-one consultations in person, by email or by Zoom. I also facilitate workshops designed to help you develop higher education learning and literacy skills at any level – including those relating specifically to thesis writing.
My background is in Applied Linguistics and Higher Education, I'm also TESOL trained, have over 15 years' experience as a learning adviser and supervisor, and am a useful 'critical friend' on the postgraduate journey.
