Gay has been employed by the university since 2001. She teaches radiation therapy and oncology, and treatment planning concepts, and contributes to other papers in the undergraduate programme.
Gay is actively involved within the professional body, the New Zealand Institute of Medical Radiation Technology (NZMIRT). She has a strong affiliation with the Wellington Cancer Society, and is on the Australian and New Zealand Medical Radiations Research Network (ANZMRRN) committee. Gay is on the editorial review board of the Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences.
Research interests and activities
Gay's field of research is in psycho-oncology and developmental educational psychology with a particular interest in the well being, stress management and job satisfaction initiatives of oncology health care workers and students in New Zealand.
