If you want to apply for the Internship Programme, it's important that you begin your preparation early in your second year of study.

Ten steps to becoming an Otago business intern

1. Check you're eligible then email your name and student ID to confirm your eligibility to the Internship Manager to: internships@otago.ac.nz

2. Check the key dates for the Internship Programme

3. Apply to the Otago Internship Programme by downloading the application form (Applications open 10 April and close 10 May 2017)

4. Attend an interview with the Internship Manager and the Academic Leader (week beginning Monday 15 May)

5. Complete the Employability Programme – practical “work-related” training (July-August)

6. Attend a final interview with the Internship Manager (late August)

7. Check and apply for internship role(s) before the closing date for applications to employers (Second week of September)

8. Attend employer interviews (last two weeks of September)

9. Enrol for the 300-level Otago academic distance learning paper (BSNS 301)

10. Begin your internship from mid-November
