Award winning Head Chef
The Cumby Kitchen team is headed by Kevin Strange, our Executive Chef, who has won numerous awards for his culinary abilities, including the Inaugural Residential College Chef of the Year competition!
It is from such an excellent foundation that we can boast the high standard of meals here at Cumberland.
Kevin doesn't have a team of cooks - he has a team of first class chefs to make your food!
Nutritious, healthy, fulling and tasty food every day
Kevin and the team spend a huge amount of effort and time making the food at Cumby what you want it - nutritious, healthy, filling - and most of all - TASTY!
They're always keen to hear from you about the food and try out new things.
Breakfast
In the mornings you'll find continental style breakfasts to kick start your day.
Lunch
At lunch you'll find the health bar for those watching their weight and wanting to stay really healthy. Here you'll find a range of salads and other healthy foods, options to make your own toasted sandwiches and you'll often find sushi or made-to-order omelettes!
Packed lunches can be made at breakfast time (Monday - Friday) for those that have class over lunchtime.
Dinner
In the evenings the team will sort you out for dinner with multiple meat options, vegetarian and a range of eye popping veges and salads.
Breads, fruits, tea, salads, coffee and hot chocolate are served with each meal and a dessert to tempt the sweet palate is served most evenings with dinner.
Late meals
Got a late lecture or a sports practice? Don't sweat it we can provide late meals upon request!
Special dietary requirements
Got a particular dietary requirement? Vegetarian and Halal food is always available and Kevin's team are able to cater for most dietary requirements by prior arrangement (gluten free, dairy free etc). Feel free to contact us and talk more about your needs!

As part of the social programme at Cumby we have a number of Formal and "Theme" dinners throughout the year that are awesome fun.
