The Centre for Translational Physiology is the home of a Holologic Horizon A DXA scanner.
DXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is accepted as the gold standard measure of body composition. A scan gives accurate calculations of percentage body fat, fat mass, muscle mass, bone density, and how this compares to population averages.
The Centre meets all relevant safety standards and has approved operators on site to undertake scans. The scanner is used by both researchers and individuals.
See our body composition scans page to book your scan now.
