Timeline for submission of an Indicative Proposal for a New Programme
Indicative Proposal for a New Programme (New qualification or new major subject or endorsement or minor subject.) | Prior to preparing an indicative proposal, a proposer must undertake a pre-approval process to ensure that the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (PVC) supports the viability of the programme being proposed. Each Division has a checklist1, which proposers must work through in advance of seeking PVC approval to develop the indicative proposal. Engagement with the Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting Office (SARO) and with Finance Advisory is required as part of this process, and this should be allowed for when considering deadlines. An indicative proposal should be normally be submitted to Divisional Board a number of months prior to submission of a full New Programme Proposal (formerly Form 1).
A full New Programme Proposal should only be developed once DVCs/PVCs and BUGS/BoGS approval is obtained. Feedback from DVCs/PVCs and BUGS/BoGS should be considered and incorporated into the full proposal. If a proposer is targeting CUAP Round 1, then this means that the indicative proposal should normally be submitted no later than the July Divisional Board meeting in the preceding year. |
