We would like to invite you as a member of the University of Otago alumni community to connect with us and share your experience of the world via the medium of photography in our inaugural photography competition. We want to see how you experience the world through your lens as an alum of the University of Otago. Imagination encouraged! Winning entries will be exhibited on campus and online.
You can enter photos across three categories:
- People and Culture
- Nature
- Street Life
Here's what you need to know to enter:
When does the competition open?
The competition opens on Wednesday 1 September 2021
Who can enter?
The competition is open to University of Otago Alumni.
You must be the original author of the work entered as described in the Copyright Act 1994.
What's the deadline?
Photos are due by Friday 8 October 2021
How do I submit my entry?
Email your entry to alumni.competition@otago.ac.nz
What format and size do the photos need to be?
Entries must be JPEG format. Minimum file size 1MB; maximum file size 10MB.
Images that are heavily digitally altered will not be accepted as entries to the competition.
What information do I include?
Each entry must include your name; email address; course studied; year graduated; and a description of the photograph subject matter, including where and when the photograph was taken, along with a caption.
How many photos can I submit?
You can submit a maximum of three photos per category.
Who are the judges?
A panel of university staff judges will pick the best photographs.
Are you happy for us to print and use your photos?
By entering, you grant permission for us to post your photo to the University website and Facebook page and other social media, and for your photo to be printed for display purposes if selected as a winner or notable entry.
