What to bring?

Preparation and packing

Prior to coming to Aquinas you will need to give some thought to what you need to bring. To assist you here is an outline of what we provide and some suggestions regarding what to bring.

The College provides:

  • Room: bed, desk, wardrobe, drawers, shelves, wall heater, sheets
  • Floor: telephone, toilets and showers (unisex)
  • Laundry: washing machines and dryers available for use, irons and ironing board, clothes lines.
  • The Dining Room and first floor common room are left open 24 hours a day and can be used for making snacks and/or hot drinks at any time. A fridge is located for residents in the first floor common room of the main building and the Priory first floor Kitchen.

  • Lockable bike shed
  • Computer suite with free access to the internet and the University student desktop
  • Wireless internet access in every bedroom
  • Large gymnasium and weights room
  • Two TV rooms, access to Sky TV, DVD’s, X-Box and games
  • 2 Common rooms
  • Multi-purpose recreation room
  • Pool table, Darts Board and Table Tennis table
  • Two tutorial rooms
  • Two pianos
  • Large dining room
  • Daily newspapers delivered to the College

You need to bring

  • Pillow and pillowcase (we supply one pillowcase)
  • Towels, bathmats
  • Washing powder
  • White tack for posters and pins for pin-board
  • Age ID and Community Services Card
  • Personal health and hygiene requirements
  • Coat-hangers
  • Personal first aid kits

We suggest you bring

  • Extra bedding (we supply one light duvet and cover)
  • Coffee mug and small amount of crockery and cutlery
  • Clothes pegs and washing basket or bucket
