BridgetThomas650Congratulations to Bridget Thomas, a 300-level student in 2017 majoring in Biochemistry and Plant Biotechnology, who has won the prestigious Prince of Wales Prize.

This is the University's premier undergraduate award, awarded annually to the most outstanding student completing an undergraduate or honours degree across all Divisions of the University. Bridget also won the 2017 Edson Prize in Biochemistry.

Bridget is now finishing a summer studentship in Richard Macknight's lab, researching the regulation of genes that help plants cope with drought and stress. She next plans to take a break in her education to travel.
