Hwei Min Ng 2021 imagePhD candidate

Hwei Min Ng recently completed her Master in Dietetics in 2021 at the University of Otago, Dunedin. Her thesis topic was on fibre intakes and the main food sources of fibre in adolescent males. She has also completed a Master’s publishing bursary, which looked into predicting height using ulna length in New Zealand adolescents.

Hwei is currently a PhD student with the Department of Medicine, under the supervision of Professor Richard Gearry, Dr Catherine Wall, Dr Simone Bayer as well as Professor Nicole Roy of the University of Otago.

Her project aims to understand how habitual ingestion of green kiwifruit affects gastrointestinal symptoms in individuals with functional constipation or constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.
