The proceeds from this year's Canterbury Medical Research Foundation's (CMRF) annual Wine and Art Auction will support The Infection Group's latest legionella research project.

Professor Steve Chambers is leading the project which investigates Legionella in compost and potting mix and how the risks to gardeners can be minimised.

This was the 24th auction held by the CMRF and it reached a new record with the funds raised on the night topping $160,000.

“We're delighted at the success of the evening.” said Mike Stenhouse, Chairman of CMRF. “We have a loyal group of generous donors who help us to grow this event year on year and we're happy to be able to give a significant contribution to Professor Chambers' important research.”
