If you are doing an internship/work placement in a food-related company, you may be eligible to take this FOSC460 paper, which is an industry-based project. The Academic Supervisor will work with your company employer to agree upon a project that you will complete during your time working at the company. You will be expected to write a report at the end of the project, which will be marked by the Academic Supervisor. Please note that the student is generally expected to organise the internship/work placement.

In this industry-based project, the student will work independently on the project at the host site (e.g. a food company) under the immediate supervision of their employer and reporting to their Academic Supervisor.
This paper is usually commenced during a work placement over the summer prior to students undertaking an Honours or PGDipSci year. Students should therefore contact the Course Co-ordinator well in advance to discuss the possibility of undertaking the FOSC 460 Co-operative Education Programme.

- The student will meet with the company employer and/or the Academic Supervisor on a per need basis throughout the duration of the project. There are no formal, taught classes for this paper.
