The Tackling Diet-related Disease in New Zealand symposium is being held in September 2018, at the University of Otago, Wellington, and includes a number of Edgar Diabetes and Obesity Research Centre (EDOR) presenters.

Professor Jim Mann, EDOR co-director and Director of the Healthier Lives National Science Challenge, will speak about diet & the burden of disease, and how New Zealand ranks/compares internationally.

Dr Lisa Te Morenga will give a Māori perspective on diet and diet-related disease in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Professor Louise Signal, an EDOR member based in the Department of Public Health, University of Otago, Wellington, will talk about children's everyday exposure to food marketing from her Kids'Cam study.

Professor Boyd Swinburn, an EDOR advisory board member based at the University of Auckland, will discuss food marketing in New Zealand and the INFORMAS monitoring results.

This symposium is being jointly hosted by the DIET Programme (NIHI, University of Auckland), INFORMAS (University of Auckland), and the BODE3 Programme (University of Otago, Wellington), and is co-sponsored by the Healthier Lives National Science Challenge.
