Expertise
I am an applied linguist and language teacher educator. My research interests include pragmatics and interactional competence, language learning and teaching, and heritage language maintenance. I have published in various international journals and edited volumes published by international presses. Most recently, I have co-edited the volume Building teacher capacity in English Language Teaching in Vietnam: Research, Policy and Practice (2019, with C.V. Le, M. T.H. Nguyen, & R. Bernard), published by Routledge. Currently, I am on the editorial board of Applied Pragmatics (John Benjamins), and the Asian Journal of English Language Teaching published by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press.
I welcome enquiries from motivated and qualified PhD applicants who wish to undertake projects related to my research activities and experience.
