Physical - 226x170The School of Geography has a strong tradition of theoretical and field-based research into physical environmental processes.

We analyse and model biological, climatic, hydrological and sedimentary processes at a range of spatial and temporal scales, with field sites in a wide range of environments including glaciers, dunes, alpine ecosystems, rivers, lakes and coasts.

Much of this work is undertaken in association with other national and international researchers and contributes to our understanding of important processes that underpin major issues such as climate change and its consequences for environmental systems.
