He kete korero Autumn 2023 coverWelcome to the Autumn 2023 issue of He Kete Kōrero, with the latest news from the Wellington campus.

Our May issue is full of news about our people who are making a positive difference to our communities, and who are receiving recognition for their world-class work at home and abroad.

We celebrate the news that Associate Professor Diane Sika-Paotonu, Associate Dean (Pacific), has been awarded the 2022 Prime Minister’s Science Communication Prize.

This first issue of the year allows us to mark the opening of the Public Health Communication Centre, a unique initiative which offers further opportunities to boost the reach and impact of key public health research.

We hear the latest on new research grants which will provide funding in areas ranging from indigenous wellbeing to men’s mental health, allowing our researchers to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of people and their whānau.

We also acknowledge the unsettling times we face as the University looks for ways to deal with its financial difficulties and express our appreciation of the support staff are providing to each other within their teams.
