R CampbellThe School of Biomedical Sciences has announced the winners of this year's staff awards for teaching, research, and research support. To her own big surprise, Associate Professor Rebecca Campbell won the Distinguished Researcher Award.

This prize acknowledges sustained high-quality research output, with a particular focus on the past 5 years. During this time, Rebecca and her team have successfully created a new mouse model for the disorder PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), which is the most frequent cause of infertility in humans. Using this model they were able to show that at least a part of PCOS' pathophysiology manifests in the brain.
