Free piano

Tuesday, 20 September 2022

Small piano to give away – ‘Zender’ make, around 40 years old. A good beginner’s piano, it's easy to play with a nice sound. Dimensions 100cm high, 133cm long, 48cm deep. Does need tuning and a couple of the upper keys are not currently working (but used to). Collect from Broad Bay – it’s heavy, so either professional movers or several people, trolley and van would be needed. For pics and more info please email

Become a host family for the University of Otago

Wednesday, 14 September 2022

Now that international travel is opening up we are currently enlisting new host families.

If you are a family who has some spare time for hosting an independent international tertiary-aged student in your home, please contact us (details below).

Host families will receive a weekly payment, along with support and training to assist with hosting.

Some requirements are that hosts should have a well maintained home, a spare room for a student and enough space to cater for another resident in your home. We look for hosts who are interested in sharing their home, embracing a different culture and offering occasional support. This can be a very rewarding experience.

Hosts should live within 8-10 kilometres of Dunedin city and be on a good bus route to the city.

If this is you, please email us at or phone us on 03 4794184 or 03 4795710 to find out more
