Research

My research focuses on improving the health of people living with neurological conditions including stroke and Huntington’s disease. My approach is translation of knowledge in two directions: using preclinical models to generate proof of principle for clinical trials (bench to bedside) and big data to understand patient populations and refine our animal models (reverse translation). Experience in qualitative research methods including questionnaire-based research, retrospective medicines audit and analysis using grounded theory facilitates a patient-led approach.
