New Zealand Association of Pharmacy Students Otago

The New Zealand Association of Pharmacy Students Otago (NZAPS-O) is a voluntary student executive committee who represent the School of Pharmacy and its students. The committee has much to offer to its members, which goes to explain why the Association enjoys a very strong membership among students studying pharmacy at the University of Otago.

Studying towards a BPharm is not all work and no play. All NZAPS-O executives work closely together to plan and organise numerous social and sporting occasions throughout the year for the students (which you don't want to miss out). These include events such as Coffee and Cake days, Wine & Cheese Evening, Pharmacy Ball, Pharmacy Revue, and much, much more!

Also, an interfaculty competition between ourselves, medicine, dentistry and physiotherapy students is held every year, with students competing in rugby, soccer, hockey, touch, basketball, and netball.

All Pharmacy students are eligible to become an NZAPS-O member, which will entitle you to some great deals and savings during your time as a pharmacy student, and will ensure that you are always up-to-date and involved (if you want to be) with any events. Joining NZAPS-O will allow you to benefit from and enjoy throughout the year cheaper social event tickets, deals for first aid courses, text books, as well as discounts from businesses around Dunedin. NZAPS-O members are also eligible to apply for Student Exchange Programmes, as well as pharmacy conferences overseas, such as the IPSF congress (International Pharmaceutical Student Federation) or APPS (Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium).

We have an office in the Hunter Centre, which is open from 1pm–2pm on Monday's and Wednesday's during semester times, so feel free to come in and have a chat with us if you have any questions.
