Exploring augmented healing and tissue replacement technologies

At the Christchurch Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering (CReaTE) research group we investigate new techniques and technologies for engineering complex 3-dimensional biological tissues.

Our interdisciplinary team of engineers, cell biologists, molecular biologists, polymer chemists and orthopaedic clinicians work together across disciplines using in-vitro culture techniques, adult human stem cells, bio-inks and 3D-bioprinting technologies.

Our goal is to develop therapeutic options for people who have lost tissue from disease, natural degenerative processes or from traumatic injury.
