Sharing the love of reading

What is Reading Oasis?

Reading Oasis is a literacy programme that aims to give every child the opportunity to love reading. Teaming up with Catalytic Foundation (previously United Way), one of the world's largest not-for-profit organisations, Reading Oasis in Dunedin is the only programme of its kind in the South Island.

When you can attend Reading Oasis

We currently have two streams: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30am to 1:00pm

Duration of Reading Oasis

The programme runs for one academic semester. We ask that volunteers commit for one full semester.

What will you be doing?

Student volunteers from the University of Otago visit local schools, create an 'oasis' in sharing new books to spread the love of reading with pupils from Years 1–3.
