BA(Hons) PhD
Research Associate Professor and Biostatistician
I joined the University of Otago, Wellington as a Research Fellow in April 2007, and have been employed as a full time consulting biostatistician since 2008. As well as my consulting role, I teach biostatistical methods for postgraduate courses at UOW, as well as developing and running practical workshops on statistical methods for staff and students. I am involved as a co-investigator on several projects at the University of Otago, Wellington, including looking at multimorbidity in New Zealand (with Assoc Professor Diana Sarfati, leader of the Cancer Control and Screening Research Group webpages here,) work with members of the Eru Pomare Maori Health Research Centre on breast cancer screening and the impact of racial discrimination on health (webpages here,) and several projects with the Women's Health Research Centre (with Assoc Professor Beverley Lawton, project webpages here.)
Prior to becoming a biostatistician, I was an experimental psychologist and neuroscientist: I have a PhD from the University of Otago (graduated 2004) and also spent three years as a post-doctoral research fellow in sensorimotor neuroscience, working with Professor Chris Miall in the PRiSM research group at the University of Birmingham in the U.K. (website here.)
