Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB)
The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB Chb) degree is commonly referred to as the 'medical degree'. School leavers enrol in Dunedin for the competitive Health Sciences First Year course. They then apply for admission to 2nd-year medicine in Dunedin.
After studying for 3 years in Dunedin, one-third of medical students move to University of Otago, Wellington for their 4th, 5th, and 6th years.
