Residential Colleges
The Application Process
We are now accepting applications for full year accommodation in our Residential Colleges for 2011. If you are an undergraduate student applying for a Residential College in 2011, applications open on 1 August 2010. Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to your first College Preference for consideration.
The selection process will commence on the 1 October 2010. An offer of a place in a College will include a contract together with a request for some further information and a deposit. If the College is unable to make an offer at this time, your application will be returned to the Accommodation Office General Waitlist for consideration by all Colleges that have vacancies. An offer of a place or letter advising your application is on the general waiting list will be sent on 12 October 2010.
Applications will continue to be accepted from the 1 October 2010, but will be placed on the general waitlist held at the Accommodation Office. Applications on the waitlist will be reviewed as a space becomes available at any of the colleges.
1. Complete an online application:
You will be sent an acknowledgement email once you have completed your online application. This will enable you to be able to log in with your application number and password to check the status of your application.
2. Application Requirements:
To be considered your application must be complete with the required references and proposed course of study.
a) Students who have been at school in the past two years please complete the Confidential School/College Reference form (332k in PDF format) and then forward it to your school to complete page 2 (the Confidential Reference). Your school will then forward it to our Accommodation Office.
b) If you have not attended school in the past two years, please send two character references* to the Accommodation Office from people that have supervised, or been senior to you in your current or most recent employment or studies.

Notes:
* Character Reference - An overview of what a character reference is:
Also known as a personal reference or personal recommendation, a character reference documents your positive personal attributes. This type of reference is important for non-employment related pursuits ranging from memberships and awards to child custody and adoptions. Character reference letters can also prove useful in landing jobs.
